Hi.
Im fitting in the 6speed gearbox from the E39 M5 into my 245.
Big issue is the oil. My gearbox is one of the first from the M5, so it has the ATF oil sticker on it.
BMW is trying to sell me a 75w90 gearoil for this box, and that is for sure very different than the thin ATF oil i had in the gearbox.
So im thinking here on this forum there must be a few running these gearboxes also, afterall Savarturbo inspired me bigtime
What oil are you running on these early M5 gearboxes with the ATF sticker on?
Feel free to answer in swedish.
E39 M5 6speed gearoil recommendations?

You have a g420, i would throw in the castrol´s fully synthetic syntrans oil. I think that it is 75-140 or something like that. You can check getrag´s reccomendations.
I have never heard of an hydraulic fluid in a manual transmission. Automatic fluid has to work under pressure, manual dont.
