Just starting to research RUSEFI, and it seams it costs about the same as the Arduino based Speeduino but is more powerful and has more features.
The base Frankenstein - ECU shield consists of:
12 channel low side - VNS14NV04 (injectors & solenoids)
6 channel hi side (ignition modules) - TC4427
12 channel analog input - LMV324ID
VR input - MAX9926
CAN bus- SN65HVD230
microSD & USB TTL - FT232RL
Speeduino V0.3.3 pre-assembled board projected cost + Mega 2560 - $160 USD each(10 off low demand) - $145 each(20 off high demand)
Frankenstein 0.11 pre-assembled + stm32f4discovery brain board - $174 USD

Re: RUSEFI cheap DIY open source EMS
Thank you for you interested in rusEfi!
Actually Frankenstein is our previous design and there are no plans to produce any more assembled units - one can still get a full kit of parts for about $99.
Our main design currently is http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title= ... enso_board where full parts kit would be around $150 and fully assembled units are around $300.
