I got the brake pads. Assembled the front brake pads without any problems, but then with the rear pads I ran into a problem. I had to stop the assembly because I almost died in laughter.


I didn´t remember that Saab 9000 brake pads are this small! Come on! My daily driver key chain is bigger and the sticker in the packet are bigger than the performance brake pads These look like they are ment for bicycle. Well, they should work ok but the size is just rediculous

Relocated the oil cooler from the wheel well back in front of the car. Have to cut a few holes in bumper to increase the air flow to oil cooler and ofcourse for the racing look

Cut the passenger floor for the v-band connector and exhaust flex piece. There was space for 3" exhaust pipe, but 3.5" exhaust flex and v-band just could not fit in that space. Also now I got more space between exhaust pipe and gearbox mounting rubber. Win win.

Actually I haven´t got anything done. Visited briefly in garage and made a To Do list of missing parts and works. 12.5. there is a track day where I am going to participate, so it would be good to get at least some of those things done before that. Few things with chassis, engine, brakes, steering and electrics should be done prior driving. Should be possible, but we´ll see...

Well didn´t get those done, but there is still quite much time left before summer begins

Got the fuel back from welder who welded AN8 fittings at the end of the Cosworth Sierra fuel rail. It has same injector spacing as Saab engine, but inner diameter of the rail is waaaay bigger. Saab fuel rail has ~5mm fittings at the end. Also picked up an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. So the fuel system is slowly getting together.

Fuel catch can with Walbro 450LPH pumps is ready. This fuel pump setup is "a bit" overkill for me, but one might be not enough and these are so cheap that there is no reason to buy something else. Also they are E85 suitable. Got the steering rack assembled and engine removed. There are few things that have to be done in engine bay and without engine it is much easier to work there.

Dropped the engine back in.

Got the oil cooler hoses, steering pump hoses and turbo oil lines done and test fitted them. Fuel rail, fuel pressure requlator and fuel lines are yet missing. Then it would be start up time!

Got the Cosworth Sierra fuel rail with AN8 fittings fitted into Rekord intake manifold. The plan is to get this thing started next week.
