Yeah if it was in too bad of shape to bring back to original i'd widebody and build it. The ones with deep dish wheels are the early 3.0's, in this video later 3.5 csl's with m88 turbo 900hp with the big 19"s rear wheel, ronnie & gunnar nilsson, hans stuck

Re: Sällsynt BADASS Ronnie Peterson BMW CSL Film 1976
I have 2 stock ones that are in better shape.
One that was completely restored but missing the interior and windshield that I got very cheap many years ago.
They are both 3.0 CSI:s.
I would prefer the early widening, I think that looks better like the early Gösser car.
I don't have any earlier 4 valve engines than a M635 M88 so for historic racing I would probably have to use a 2 valve engine.

Yea M30 engine would do the fit not extremely practical choice for turbo but from scratch is scratch, and nostalgia or s54 modern

I can either run it in Roadsport or Modsport with any engine or run it in Historic racing.
For Historic I have to use a homologated engine.

Re: Sällsynt BADASS Ronnie Peterson BMW CSL Film 1976
Pre 1972 homologated group 5 allowed up to 5 liter engine, then in '72 reduced to 3000cc so then bmw took advantage of that, then later in '75 i believe they let 5 liters again considered special klass so camaros 302ci, etc joined and compensation by 3.5 liter bmw introduced (handicapped turbo of 1.5liter but we all know this was before boost regulators just like they later did and dominated f1 as well)

Ronnie Peterson is supposed to have run a turbo CSL on the Knutstorp track but the gearbox broke.
I be,ieve they ran N/A in Europe and turbo later in the US.
I have books about it at home but not that long memory.

Yeah i'll have to post pictures i met this oldtimer use to race in the '70s has a poster from 75 of the infamous hans stuck '74 nurburgring jump some damn good stories of shagging & pot smoking that poster could tell from back in the day hes got a huge collection we'll see if he's looking to sell sometime soon.
In '77 they ditched the csl's and went with the 320i, m12 formula 2.0 i4 infiltrated by 88mm truck turbo supposedly mclaren made the plastics for the body. Later in the imsa gtp this 2.0 in '86 made 1400+hp in qualifying trim and a story is 2000hp was once achieved with over 100mm turbon before spewing it's guts at road america research and development, obviously earlier f1 ran the 1.5 version producing literally 1hp per cc.
320 http://www.racingsportscars.com/suffix/ ... Turbo.html
Besides porsche 956 the elitist closed cockpit car ever, still holds the fastest watkins glen current lap record for a closed cockpit car and fastest lap time only to be beat by a champ car (indy) : http://www.racingsportscars.com/type/photo/BMW/GTP.html
Edit: Did not find Knutstorp, but here's a list of Ronnie's recorded known career, including his final race and looks to be that he would race 320's after Italy GP.
