Yes it would be, but I really think that I´ll be going N/A for the start I have 6.0 parts in the garage and I might slap that together in the early summer.

Put the LS swapped 740 on the scales. 5.3 LM4 i.e. aluminum block engine + BMW 5 speed ZF, battery in the trunk and ~30L gasoline in tank = 1433kg. I think it is quite decent weight for this pig.

It is interesting to see how the weight changes after I put a 6.0 engine and 6 speed gearbox in this. Engine is 45kg heavier and gearbox adds maybe 10kg. So thats about it Not very difficult calculation after all

Quick recap from latest modifications.
After inspection I noticed crank rear seal is leaking. Only way to replace that was to lift out the engine and gearbox, because it is impossible to remove gearbox from engine in the car. This offered a great oportunity for some tuning. I had a 6.0 liter LQ4 engine in the garage, a set of 243 cylinder heads and a 227/234 cam. Heads needed valve lapping and 0.25mm surfacing due some dents. With these heads the stock LQ4 compression ratio is changed from 9.5 to about 10.2. Also I put GTO LS1 accessories to this engine.
5.3 engine with truck accessories on the floor and 6.0 with GTO accessories on the engine stand. GTO accessories made the upper water hose much easier and smoother. Also dropping the alternator down gave hood clearance and made engine bay look a bit cleaner.
"while I was at it" I changed the gearbox from GS5-39DZ to GS6-37DZ. Old gearbox whined a lot and also I wanted that 6th gear which is overdrive.
Had 26x9.5 slicks in the garage, so they had to be tested I don´t know though if the stock rear end would be strong enough for those...

Got the rear diff changed to a refurbished LSD. Found out also why this felt quite short geared and responsive: It has 4.1 final gear I´ll probably change that to a longer one but have to test it first.

Got the rear suspension upgraded
Now it should be as good as it can be in stock form. Next step is to put a Ford 8.8" rear end with some sort of suspension arms. Maybe four link. I already bought one axle because I got a bargain on it

Took second scaling on this. Now it has iron block engine and a GS6-37DZ. Not a surprise that the weight difference is quite much the weight of the blocks.

Got to drive a bit. Car felt good. GS6-37DZ gearbox and 4.1 diff ratio felt very good on that short track. I think with zero ackerman and with a little more steering angle it will be a lot of fun.

Built another engine and got to test drive it. Drove the Volvo to the track, roasted four tires and drove back home. Kinda success after all the difficulties.

Saabel Rekord V8
Started to prep the Saabel Rekord for inspection. The plan is to get it inspected with an LS engine with in a month and the full road legal inspection at the spring.
