I had planned to try that with a new manifold for a big turbo RB26 Maybe the reason why the conventional spool valve is not used often is because it chokes the engine to much at low rpm and cannot spool the turbo with enough efficiency so you lose to much torque trying to create torque. BW type is only type that might work , DPUK type that some americans also make is the stupidest thing I have ever seen.
Maybe 15 years ago almost every truck racer in Finland tried "spool valve" but there is a reason no one is using it anymore.

I would use 2x DHLA Dellortos , although Lotus Esprit Turbo came in 1980 but I think DHLA basic version was before 1974 ?

I reckon that you have the Scania 97x92mm 12 blade. There is a Cummins 100x86.5mm 11 blade that works good, especially if you try it with a housing for 92mm, it does not loose that much spool and gives a really noticeable peak at max. Wastegates were used in plane engines from the beginning. Manually by pilot , to compensate for altitude.

LPG injection is about the only extra injection you can use with diesel because it is not self igniting before diesel ignites. But those chinese Bosch plungers are quite cheap and many have changed them themselves so that would be my choice. Highest hp is made with 11mm plunger, bigger can not take...

Locked the turbo of my testmule , 13 litre Iveco with HE500 VGT-turbo. 480hp original , at maybe 2 bar boost , so without boost should have 160 hp. Dont know how well 160hp should move 7500kg but didnt feel too sluggish. Backpressure gauge started to move close to max rpm , maybe 0,1bar , at lower ...
