Last weekend I took the #740LS to Lapua racetrack. Loaded 16 tires in the van, but got only 10 of them burned. Begun the day with fiddling the radiator fan electrics and connecting radiator water spray system. Water spray system sounds much better than "windshield washer and water nozzle from Biltema" Anyway, got those sorted out and had zero heat issues whole day, though the temperature was above +25c. Only problem was the hydraulic handbrake which was not working properly. Had to pump it first once and with second pull it worked. I bleeded it, but it didn´t help.

Next weekend there is a trackday at Pesämäki and I am planning to take Volvo there and burn atleast those 6 tires. Hope I find few more within the week

Got to drive at Pesämäki track last Saturday on Opel 60´s & 70´s club and Opel Club Finland joint track day. Volvo just kept working and I got to shread 14 tires.

Brought an engine from back yard in the garage, put a "Rekord fit kit" in it and dropped in

Engine appears to be in decent condition. Interesting to see what kind of oil pressure it has. The plan is to get Rekord in driving condition and also when the engine, gearbox and chassis are combined they tend to eat up less space

Engine itself was a genuine junk yard drop-out unit. It spins and appeared to have compression in all cylinders.

The first street legal LS swapped Opel Rekord in Finland! Got it inspected few days ago Already waiting next summer and proper drift sessions. I have decided it will be goooooood.

Changing Volvo 240 1031 axle to a Ford Explorer 8.8" unit. This Ford axle is enormous and it should be unbreakable.

I haven´t got anything done to Rekord or Volvo, because I set target to get my Kadett running.

Long story short; A year ago I bought a Opel Kadett C rolling chassis from a friend


Fitted a C18XE engine and Omega gearbox in it


Then it sat at the yard almost a year.


Then it got sand blasted and base paint:

Change that target to June which should be quite reasonable because there is almost just finishing touches left. Although the list is not the shortest one.

Got the chassis wiring mostly done. For the first time I thought to do it properly at the first try and therefore I bought Raychem wire from TT-Speed. Have to say it was a good decition. Got a lot of different color wires and the wire was nicer to work with than regular market wire.



Engine bay is also mostly done. Have to extend few wires and finish the cooling system.
