Very nice project you are working on.
But I recon you should be able to go faster than 200mph if you have enough power and do a slight work on the aerodynamics as in not getting so much air in under the car.
Remember, the group A volvo 240s had top speeds of up to about 185 mph depending on the gear ratio, and these cars were pushing out a mere 350hp at top.

Amazing project! Everything looks really serious and top-notch

Imagine what people will think when they see a old Volvo 242 blast through the 200mph barrier!

we started out with a Turbonetics T76,but it was to small for this engine.then we went to a Garret gt 42 type and it did the job and have some more left over.we are now going to change the wastegate because the old one could not handle the bigger turbo. so far it has made 600hk@ 10 psi of boost @ 7000 rpm.we still have to try again with the new wastegate. our goal is 850hk.it should make 850hk with ease @ 20 psi of boost.

we are working on an air dam and aluminum rear spolier at this time.will post pics when is done.
i thought that the Group-A cars were only good for 155 not 185.

According to
www.240grupp-a.se the top speed could be all between 230-300KPH (142-186MPH) depending on their setup for the track.
I belive some of the final gear ratios were hardly ever used, no need to be able to go 186 mph if the track is good for like 140

Do you have your numbers straight?
2.34 liters, 0.7 bar boost, 7000 rpm and 600 hp. Quite a feat, that would make it 350 hp N/A which is .. a lot even by swedish standards.

Is there something mixed into the methanol?
A very interesting project none the less, I'd like to go to the salt lake flats one day myself!

Mattias, I´ve seen many times that this '1bar equals 100% rise of power' formula doesn´t say the whole truth.
I would like to make the calculation of power with 0.99bar of absolut pressure in the manifold.
I have a theory that the turbo helps 'pushing in' air when engine is running at 1bar absolute pressure.
That overcomes some friction etc etc in inletmanifold, and makes the engine produce 'too much' power in N/A mode.

jag bruka försöka förklara så att 1 bar kan öka effekten 100% om man räknar från max kompa sugmotor till max kompa med 1 bar laddtryck.
sen kan fylnads graden öka upp mot 15% över det också om man tar till vara på alla avstämningar man kan få då avgastrycket hamnar långt under laddtrycket.
sumerar man detta så kan en turbomotor med låg kompa sugmotor ge ricktigt dålig effekt sen kan den ge upp mot 130% ökning med ett bar då cylinder trycken kommer in i registret där det börjar fungera.
