Pressure measuring up to 10bar and temperature measuring -40 .. +125 celsius

Caravan pushed inside and "new" 1.7S engine waiting to be put in

Though I bought a 1.7s engine which had been running this summer, I put back the original 1.9s engine because I just didn´t have the energy to swap rekord-fit oilpan from 1.9s to 1.7s. Interesting to see if this engine works. Usually there is some reason why engine gets removed from car and car ends up to be looooooooooooooooooooooooong project but lets hope the best and it runs

Got brakes (except handbrake) working today from Caravan. Now though I am going to put this on hold for the rest of the month, because I have to get Sedan dyno ready. Booked dynotime on 27th day morning and on afternoon there is trackday at Ahvenisto where I am going. Hoping to brake that 500hp on dyno That should be realisticly possible.

Yes, outside of Caravan is ready, but everything else needs doing.



Made a ToDo list what has to be done before Saabel is fully roadable and ready for dyno.

Head and rear lights are working! ToDo list is shrinking

Added a bit thicker spacer under the waste gate spring. Old was 8mm and there was 1.4bar boost. Now there is 11mm and hopefully a bit more boost Intresting to see what happens.

Getting ready for track day Ahvenisto has quite low desibel limit; 94dB. Atleast it sounded a lot quieter at idle.

Today didn´t go exactly as planned. I went to the dyno and then straight to home. At the dyno hose from intake manifold to wastegate got loose in full pull. Boost peaked suddenly somewhere 2+bar and after that engine started to make some knocking sound and we put Rekord back to the trailer. Quesses for broke parts are con rod bearings, main bearings or piston.

Well, have to open that engine and see what has happened.

Compression pressure test showed that there is ~8bar in every cylinder, so pistons seem to be OK. Con rod bearings are next suspect.

Drained oil from engine and shiny copper bits came out from engine. So, bearings are done.
