Hello i'm Dennis Bots.
After checking this forum out for over 2 years now, i wanted to introduce myself so here you go.
I'm from the Netherlands, 25 years old and am a metal worker.
I am slowly building a Mercedes 190 2.5 16v with rotrex compressor.
This is my first real project so i am still full of stupid questions which i hope you guys can answer for me.
The people here in Holland seem to be 2 year behind you when it comes down to tuning and if then know there stuff they don't want to share it.
Jesper (2.3-16) of this forum already helped me a lot with quit a few questions.
So i think you here from me soon.
Greetings Dennis

Piston oil coolers from a Saab turbo:
Diff Lock for about 80% maybe more:
Brake's from a c55 AMG

70mm throttle body from a mustang:
2x recaro speed seat incl belts:
Springs and shocks spec made for racing on the Nordschleife:
Kind of proud of this one.
A real dtm header:
etc etc etc
I'm still waiting for some parts like Custom wiseco pistons, K1 connecting rods, and lot of goodies for the head and things like that.
The car will be run with a VEMS .
First i want to built the engine complete and then i want to bring the car to some company that fix the damage.
Then engine in the car and built it on from there.

Thanks, i also like the model very much and also the race minded parts that are all over the car.
This is my second one btw, i had a black 2.3 16v as a first car.
God i had fun kicking the living shit out of that one.
Today i got some adjustable camber plate's in house.
They look very strong with good quality.
(i have the silver one's)
Also got contact with the guy that makes some custom parts for me and he should deliver as soon as the parts where done.
It's swedish quality btw.
Picture's and information will come ass soon as i have the part's in house.
As soon as i got those parts i can start building the head and then the project should start rolling.
Will be continued:

Welcome and this looks like a very cool project!
The moderators should maybee move this thread to Vad händer i garagen?
btw it looks like the second port on the header is alot lower than the other ones cause of the welding?

thank you guys
But the header is built with 2 lose pipe's, i think it is done to prevent cracking or maybe it was easier for the guys to weld it.
The front end will be fixed but it needs a professional tho with a pulling bank.
Btw goal is about 500hp and about 9,000rpm after i can handle the VEMS.
And then i will see what the future brings.
Right now i'm looking for somebody that can machine flow my head.

Really cool project! I'm working on one as well.. Nice brakes
Do you have any more info on the clutch?
Postat: tis jan 13, 2009 5:25 pm
av dennisbots
Thanks
The clutch is a SPEC stage 3+ and i added an extra strong pressure plate with it.
The + means that i don't have sinterpads but a full Carbon semi-metallic friction disc and that should be easier to control/handle.
Without the stronger pressure plate it was up to about 650NM and now with the extra strong pressure plate it should handle 850NM.
Don't think i will exceed that haha

VEMS system will by put in the car by DP-engineering.
They are a dealer of VEMS and it is the same company as where i got the pistons and connecting rods from.
Btw i got 1 set of those connecting rods for sale.
The base is made in china but the drilling etc is done in the USA.
They can handle about 800hp and more then 9,000rmp was not a problem they told me.
Billet 4340 Steel H Beam connecting rods. Closely monitored material mechanical properties for optimum performance. Designed and finish honed in the USA. Sizes held to some of the tightest tolerances in the industry, +/- .0001” and +/- 1 gram per end. Shot peened for improved fatigue life. Bronze wrist pin bushings. Exclusively using ARP 2000 fasteners.
