why is my engine not powerful?

Right ok so here is the results of the engine now with a volvo H cam in it





the big dip in power mid range seems to be gone, it drives very linea. dosnt seem quick but i think it will when i get it out on a rally. i need it to pull at any revs.

You can rev it longer. If your e valvetrain is taking it 7500is no problem.
I have had engines ain the dyno that is bueprinted with racehead and so on to 8250.

yes thanks, i will take ti to 7 i think, it goes ok, its not bad at all. its linea power, it pulls at any revs, thats what i need. I have seen escorts with honda engines and its just a lot of wheel spining and not going anywhere. i think this engine has an advantage over them. the only way to find out is to do an event. thats the next plan and will report back on it

well! so rally was this weekend , and we had a dnf as of the alternator earth wire broke and it made the alternator diodes blow. But we did 20-30 miles rally pk memorial in wales. The car is unreal, i had a slight off as the car pulled so well uphill, i didnt expect it to be going So fast, and lost braking on the top of a crest. No damage, but the engine now pulls so well in any gear, and so suited to the road rallying we do. Just need to get a few bits sorted to make it more reliable.


Is there a factory alternator that is good for an upgrade?

thanks, the engine is well, how it pulls is stupid, it is fast enough for me!!


i bought an alti " ALTERNATOR FOR VOLVO 940 2 2.3 TURBO" its 100 amp, it fits!

i cant wait to get the car out again, just a shame the pk memorial was sucha good rally and not for 1 year.
